Senior Shopify Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Shopify Developer who can lead the development of scalable high-performing Shopify stores and custom solutions. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Shopifys ecosystem strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to translate complex business requirements into seamless e-commerce experiences.

This role requires a proactive individual who can take ownership of projects collaborate cross-functionally and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with client expectations and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Shopify Development & Customization

• Develop customize and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid HTML CSS and JavaScript
• Build custom Shopify stores from scratch with pixel-perfect UI/UX implementation
• Optimize and enhance existing Shopify stores for performance scalability and conversions
• Implement advanced features using Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL)

Performance & Optimization

• Ensure high performance of storefronts (Core Web Vitals page speed SEO best practices)
• Implement best practices for lazy loading asset optimization and caching
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs performance bottlenecks and compatibility issues

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Design scalable and maintainable Shopify architectures
• Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards
• Mentor junior developers and guide them on best practices
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers QA engineers and project managers

Client Interaction & Ownership

• Understand client requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Participate in client meetings when required (good communication is a plus)
• Provide technical consultation and suggest improvements

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Skills

• Strong expertise in Shopify (Themes)
• Proficiency in:
  • Liquid
  • HTML5 / CSS3 / JavaScript (ES6)

Frontend & UX

• Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)
• Ability to convert Figma / Adobe XD designs into functional UI

Tools & Practices

• Version control using Git
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with Shopify Plus
• Knowledge of headless commerce (Hydrogen Storefront API)
• Experience with Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL)
• Hands-on experience with custom app development ( preferred)
• Exposure to AWS or cloud deployments
• Understanding of SEO & analytics (GA4 GTM)
• Prior experience in high-traffic or enterprise e-commerce stores
