Work studies are the connection between the Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) and the student population at Seton Hall. They are responsible for coordinating weekly programs through DOVE as well as completing in-office work that will foster our programs and our relationship with outside agencies and our Catholic mission.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Take on the role as program coordinator for at least two weekly programs. The student must serve as a leader supervising student groups of 5-20 volunteers alongside DOVEs community partners
Lead reflection after service programs
Be present for mandatory workdays and scheduled office hours in addition to the scheduled weekly programs
Represent DOVE at a variety of community service sites & attend open houses/promotional events on behalf of the DOVE office
Be a welcoming presence to all office visitors answer office phones take messages send emails to volunteers
Keep office clean and organized move & sort donations as needed
Post publicity for upcoming events and be attentive regarding all DOVE PR (the Setonian flyers broadcast emails etc.)
Recruit students for volunteer programs
Be involved in the planning of some of DOVEs larger scale events
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
** FEDERAL WORK STUDY (FWS) ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED**
This position is only available to undergraduate students at Seton Hall University who are federal work study eligible.
A professional attitude good written and oral communication skills attention to detail ability to stay self-motivated and leadership skills to supervise peers are required.
Competency in Microsoft Office Apps: Word Excel PowerPoint Teams etc.
Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.
Experience with community outreach and volunteerism.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to drive volunteers in 12-passenger van as needed not a requirement to apply.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
