Position RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
- Education:Bachelors Degree with a major in English or a specific related content area.
- Experience:At least 1 year of teaching experience.
- Eligibility:Able to work in the U.S. (does not require visa sponsorship)
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Colorado Teaching License.
- Masters Degree in English or a related field.
- Experience with Charter Schools AP curriculum or Concurrent Enrollment courses.
- Proven ability to provide differentiated instruction for ELL and Special Education students.
Position Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Design and deliver instructional plans based on the Colorado Academic Standards that are purposeful engaging and meet the differentiated needs of all students.
- Use district-adopted curricular resources.
- Conduct formative assessments that inform instruction.
- Establish and document proactive two-way communication with parents and students about their progress towards grade-level expectations.
- Participate in professional development and apply new learning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment
- Professional Development:As a condition of employment the selected candidate must complete the APS-sponsored Linguistically Diverse Educator (LDE) Certificate Program within the first two years beginning in the first year of hire.
