Position RequirementsMinimum Qualifications

  • Education:Bachelors Degree with a major in English or a specific related content area.
  • Experience:At least 1 year of teaching experience.
  • Eligibility:Able to work in the U.S. (does not require visa sponsorship)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Colorado Teaching License.
  • Masters Degree in English or a related field.
  • Experience with Charter Schools AP curriculum or Concurrent Enrollment courses.
  • Proven ability to provide differentiated instruction for ELL and Special Education students.

Position Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a positive classroom environment.
  • Design and deliver instructional plans based on the Colorado Academic Standards that are purposeful engaging and meet the differentiated needs of all students.
  • Use district-adopted curricular resources.
  • Conduct formative assessments that inform instruction.
  • Establish and document proactive two-way communication with parents and students about their progress towards grade-level expectations.
  • Participate in professional development and apply new learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

  • Professional Development:As a condition of employment the selected candidate must complete the APS-sponsored Linguistically Diverse Educator (LDE) Certificate Program within the first two years beginning in the first year of hire.
