Job Summary
We are excited to welcome a Female Support Worker to our warm and lively supported living service in Southbourne. Youll be joining a close-knit community of seven young adults in their early to mid-twenties each enjoying the independence of their own self-contained flat while sharing a supportive and social environment. With a mix of three women and four men there is a real sense of different personalities to work with!
No previous experience No problem. This role is a fantastic way to step into the care sector whether youre starting out or looking for a fresh direction. Youll have the opportunity to build confidence learn practical skills and gain hands-on experienceall while making a genuine difference in peoples lives. Its a role where youll grow just as much as the people you support.
A Genuine Occupational Requirementapplies under Schedule 9 Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. This role is therefore only open to females referring to the sex legally assigned at birth.
To be considered for this role you must hold a Full UK manual driving licence however access to your own vehicle is not essential.

The role:
Your role would be to help our residents through the transition in life from living at home to living independently in one way or another. You could be supporting with preparing food laundry weekly food shopping/ monitoring healthy eating options providing advice about work placements and day to day colleague interaction day trips into the forest attending workshops and clubs cake tasting in local cafes or going to watch the football in the Brewhouse. The options are endless!
We are looking for an attentive colleague who brings a calm caring approach to her work. It would suit someone who is active and comfortable spending much of the day on her feet and who is genuinely passionate about encouraging independence and empowering the people we support.
Hours: Full Time
You would be required to work a mixture of shift which will vary between 7am - 10pm on a 2 week rolling rota which will include working alternative weekends and completing sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment.)
A support workers day would include:
- Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
- Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans finances appointments and medication
- Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
- Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts helping to bath and wash medication
