Position Summary
The Tuna Loiner is responsible for breaking down whole tuna into loins using a band saw in a fast-paced seafood processing environment. The role requires high precision strong yield control and consistent product quality while following strict food safety standards.
Important Requirement
The candidates with direct tuna loining experience specifically involving breaking down whole frozen tuna and partitioning loins using a band saw.
Experience Required
Minimum 3 5 years of direct tuna loining experience (mandatory)
Proven hands-on experience handling whole frozen tuna breakdown using band saws
Experience working in seafood processing or industrial fish cutting environments
Strong track record of maintaining yield precision and product consistency
Experience in high-volume production environments preferred
Key Responsibilities
Operate band saw to break down whole tuna into loins
Perform precise cutting to maximize yield and reduce waste
Trim and portion tuna according to specifications
Maintain consistent cut quality and presentation standards
Meet daily production targets and efficiency goals
Follow all food safety hygiene and sanitation protocols
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Support overall production flow and team performance
Preferred Qualifications
High-volume seafood processing experience
Strong speed accuracy and consistency in cutting
Experience with multiple seafood species or processing lines
Food safety certification (an asset)
Export-grade seafood production experience
Work Environment
Cold wet seafood processing facility
Fast-paced production environment
Physically demanding role requiring long hours of standing
