Job Summary
Position Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of custom equipment and structural system projects. This role will work closely with senior team members while also taking ownership of portions of projects as experience grows.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to be involved in real-world equipment design and see projects through from concept to build.
What Youll Do
- Support mechanical and structural design of custom systems including:
- Paint and curing systems (ovens booths washers)
- Conveyors and material handling systems
- Large structural fabrications (hoppers platforms support structures)
- Recycling and bulk material handling systems
- Assist in developing concepts layouts and detailed drawing packages
- Work directly with:
- Shop floor (machining fabrication assembly)
- Vendors and suppliers
- Controls/automation team
- Help ensure designs are practical and buildable
- Support builds through assembly and debug as needed
What Were Looking For
Must-Have Experience:
- 4 8 years in machine design structural design or custom equipment
- Experience working with mechanical assemblies and fabricated components
- Basic understanding of:
- Weldments and fabrication
- Structural layouts (frames platforms supports)
- Pneumatics or mechanical systems
- Experience with 3D CAD (Inventor SolidWorks or similar)
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to bulk material handling or recycling systems
- Conveyor system experience
- Experience working with a shop or manufacturing environment
- Exposure to robotics or automation
What This Role Is NOT
- Not a product design role
- Not a pure CAD position
- Not heavily layered with bureaucracy
