Job Summary
About the Role
As a Senior Estimator you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of industrial projects and providing detailed proposals to our manufacturing customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical and industrial controls and construction projects
- Review project plans specifications and drawings to determine project requirements
- Conduct site visits to assess project scope and conditions
- Analyze labor material and equipment costs to determine project expenses
- Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project costs
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Utilize industry-standard software to create comprehensive estimates
- Monitor and track project costs throughout the project
- Collaborate with the construction management team to ensure cost control measures are implemented
Qualifications
- Strong commercial and industrial estimating experience necessary
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and building codes
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints plans and specifications
- Familiarity with contract documents such as NEC (New Engineering Contract)
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
