Job Summary

Job Title: Medical Lab Technician
Location: Detroit Michigan
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Shift: 5x8s Rotation (2:30 PM 11:00 PM)
Start Date: 05/04/2026 Job Summary:

Under direct supervision of a laboratory technologist supervisor or leader the Medical Lab Technician performs laboratory procedures on blood and other body fluids using manual methods and automated instruments. The role follows established protocols and may include phlebotomy as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine laboratory testing on blood and body fluid specimens
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and systems
Follow standardized procedures and quality control protocols
Accurately document and report test results
Assist with specimen collection including phlebotomy when required
Work collaboratively with lab staff and healthcare teams

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Solid technical knowledge of laboratory procedures
Minimum 2 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
Experience working in a Chemistry lab environment
Hands-on experience with Beckman Coulter equipment (AU system preferred)

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Sunquest LIS
Automation lab experience

Education:

Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science (Required)

Certifications & Licensure:

Certification from a recognized national agency (ASCP or NCA) Required
