Key Responsibilities
1. Wave Soldering Process Management
Operate and supervise wave soldering machines for PCB assembly
Set and control process parameters (temperature conveyor speed flux density solder wave height)
Ensure proper preheating and soldering conditions
2. Process Optimization & Control
Monitor and improve soldering quality and yield
Reduce defects such as solder bridges cold joints and insufficient solder Implement process improvements using Lean & Kaizen techniques
3. Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform routine maintenance and preventive checks of wave soldering machines Troubleshoot machine/process issues to minimize downtime
Coordinate with Maintenance team for major breakdowns
4. Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with IPC standards and customer requirements
Conduct regular inspection and process audits
Work closely with Quality team to resolve defects and improve FPY (First Pass Yield)
5. Production Support
Support production team in achieving daily output targets
Ensure line balancing and optimal manpower utilization
Assist in new product introduction (NPI) and trial runs
6. Material & Process Control
Monitor solder pot condition flux usage and consumables
Ensure proper handling of PCBs and ESD compliance
Maintain process documentation and SOPs
7. Team Supervision & Training
Supervise operators and technicians on wave soldering line
Provide training on machine operation quality standards and safety Ensure discipline and adherence to production schedules
8. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily production and rejection reports
Track process parameters and machine performance
Prepare MIS reports for management review
Key Skills Required
Strong knowledge of Wave Soldering process
Understanding of PCB assembly & SMT/Through-hole components Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610 preferred)
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & 5S
Good leadership and team handling skills
