Job Details
The Axway B2Bi EDI Lead owns endtoend operational reliability of enterprise EDI services combining service operations leadership platform governance and reliability engineering (SRE) practices.
This role defines operational standards drives incident/problem/change excellence leads automation and observability strategy and mentors engineers across L1L3. The Lead partners closely with architecture security network database infrastructure and application owners to ensure EDI integrations remain stable scalable secure and auditready.
Key Responsibilities
A) Service Operations Leadership & Governance (60%)
Operational Ownership & Standards
- Define standardize and enforce operational processes across incident problem change release readiness and service reporting.
- Establish runbooks validation checklists escalation standards and SLO/SLA alignment.
- Ensure consistent operational execution across shifts and support tiers.
Major Incident Management & Escalation Excellence
- Lead major incident bridges with clear ownership timelines and decisionmaking.
- Drive structured communications to business and technology stakeholders.
- Ensure highquality escalation packets and seamless coordination across network DB application security and Axway SMEs.
Problem Management & Continuous Improvement
- Own the recurring issue elimination roadmap.
- Drive RCA rigor and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and validated.
- Analyze operational trends (MTTR incident categories mapping failures partner behavior certificate expiry queue backlogs) and prioritize structural fixes.
Partner Onboarding Governance
- Govern partner onboarding and production readiness:
- Connectivity and security validation
- Certificate setup and lifecycle controls
- Mapping validation and test evidence
- Cutover and rollback readiness
- Enforce standardization for partner profiles naming conventions monitoring coverage and documentation.
Compliance Security & Audit Readiness
- Ensure secure EDI operations (certificate lifecycle management access governance least privilege).
- Maintain full audit evidence for changes incidents test validation and controlled access.
- Ensure traceability and adherence to regulatory and internal compliance obligations.
B) Reliability Engineering & Automation Strategy (40%)
Observability & Monitoring Strategy
- Own Axway Sentinel and monitoring strategy:
- Alert design and noise reduction
- Proactive dashboards and KPIs
- Event correlation and rootcause visibility
- Enhance early detection for:
- Certificate expiry risks
- Queue backlog growth
- Partner heartbeat failures
- Anomalous transaction patterns
Automation & Standardization at Scale
- Define and deliver an automation roadmap using Python Shell Jenkins and platform tooling.
- Introduce selfhealing where feasible and operational guardrails where not.
- Embed quality gates into pipelines:
- Code and map validation
- Packaging standards
- Peer reviews and release signoffs
Platform Performance & Capacity Management
- Partner with infrastructure and DB teams for performance tuning and stability improvements.
- Lead capacity planning to ensure readiness for peak volumes and partner growth.
- Define measurable scale and performance targets.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Coach and mentor engineers across L1/L2/L3.
- Define skill standards training plans and competency models.
- Drive knowledge sharing documentation excellence and technical maturity.

Work Experience:
- Deep expertise in Axway B2Bi operations troubleshooting patterns and partner connectivity.
- 10 years handson experience with Axway B2Bi and Sentinel including cloud and SaaS models.
- Strong understanding of Mapping Services (MBC/DML) and JMC fundamentals.
- Advanced EDI knowledge: X12 EDIFACT transaction lifecycle acknowledgments and partner compliance patterns.
- Strong security and connectivity grounding (AS2/MIME certificates firewall coordination access governance).
- Strong automation and CI/CD experience (Jenkins scripting operational tooling).
- Proven troubleshooting across application middleware database and network layers with evidencedriven RCA.
- Demonstrated ownership of 24x7 production reliability and major incident leadership.
- Strong crossfunctional stakeholder management. Ability to translate technical risk into business impact and executivelevel updates.

Educational Qualification:
Bachelors Degree in Statistics Computer Science Information Technology or a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
