New Vehicle Prep Technician
Your Role:
Inspects and services new vehicles upon delivery to Browns Jeep and makes minor repairs or adjustments to ensure they are in salable condition. Thetechnician also conducts a final inspection of new vehicles that are sold to customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Vehicle Inspection & Diagnostics
Conduct thorough initial assessments to identify obvious body damage missing components or misaligned hardware (trim doors etc.).
Perform comprehensive road tests to evaluate engine performance steering brakes and transmission functionality.
Systematically test electronic components and power equipment including windows seats radios and lighting to ensure they meet factory operating standards.
Maintenance & Precision Repairs
Execute mechanical repairs and replace defective items with high accuracy adhering strictly to dealership and manufacturer specifications.
Install and calibrate major mechanical hydraulic or electromechanical systems including air conditioning units and power braking systems.
Tune engines and install standard or optional equipment as specified by the customer or dealership.
Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and hand equipment to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Documentation & Compliance
Accurately document warranty repairs ensuring all labor and parts are correctly charged and filed.
Stay current on regulatory standards maintaining strict compliance with federal state and local laws (e.g. OSHA Right-to-Know and hazardous waste disposal).
Prioritize shop safety by operating all equipment securely and reporting any potential hazards to management immediately.
Shop Stewardship
Maintain an organized workspace ensuring the shop area remains clean and professional.
Manage dealership assets by accounting for all shared tools and manuals returning them to their proper locations in peak condition.
