Were looking for an Associate Platform Engineer with proven Jira administration experience to join our Digital Team where youll support the smooth operation and continuous improvement of NZTAs digital platforms.
In this role youll work alongside experienced engineers to help manage platforms contribute to system development and implement automation and DevOps practices. Youll collaborate with a wide range of teams across the organisation gaining exposure to modern engineering tools cloud technologies and enterprise-scale platforms.
This is a great opportunity for an earlycareer engineer or someone looking to deepen their platform engineering experience in a supportive learningfocused environment.

Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the management performance security and reliability of digital platforms
Assisting with the design development testing and deployment of system features
Contributing to automation CI/CD pipelines and infrastructureascode practices
Working with product owners architects cyber security and technology teams to meet business needs
Participating in code reviews and engineering best practice
Learning from and supporting senior engineers while building your technical capability

Youre curious collaborative and keen to learn with a solid foundation in technology and a desire to grow as a platform engineer.
Youll bring:
Experience or understanding of the software development lifecycle
Exposure to SaaS platforms such as ServiceNow and Jira
Interest or experience in DevOps practices (CI/CD IaC automation)
Familiarity with cloud technologies (preferably Azure) scripting or automation tools
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others
Nice to have:
Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps GitHub Terraform or monitoring platforms
A tertiary qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent practical experience
You will also demonstrate knowledge of or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori tikanga and te reo Māori and an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as it applies in the public service.
