Job Summary

Join the KPFF Lacey team as an experienced motivated and skilled Project Manager who demonstrates initiative and accountability to successfully coordinate and complete projects. This position will require your expertise with fish passage design stream and habitat restoration culvert replacements and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis. The successful candidate must have at least 9 years experience in civil engineering project management and planning and construction. As a key member of our team youll not only refine your existing expertise but also deliver unparalleled client service.

You will be an essential part of the design team.  The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional leadership time management and communication skills to pursue develop and execute projects. This position provides opportunities to work on a variety of fish passage projects for both public agencies and private owners which include:

  • Hydrologic & Hydraulic Analysis
  • Stream Assessments
  • Scour analysis & Scour Countermeasure Design
  • WSDOT Stream Design
  • Streambed Stability Design
  • Large Woody Material Stability Analysis
  • Hydraulic Design Reports
  • Permit Applications & Permitting Support
  • Plans Technical Specifications & Cost Estimates
  • FEMA no-risk analysis and certification

Our project managers are accountable for project coordination quality control and ensuring projects are completed effectively to meet client expectations. General project tasks that our Project Managers perform are as follows:

  • Write or review project proposals or Statements of Qualifications 
  • Proven capability to work dynamically and effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Management and / or design of projects.
  • Excellent teamwork communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competency accountability and personal commitment to deliver quality work to our clients and to mentor design engineers.
  • Ability to apply established engineering principles to solve problems and/or overcome obstacles using sound judgement independent decision making and prolonged focus.
  • Foster strong client relationships by actively listening to client needs providing clear communication and delivering customized solutions that align with their objectives
  • Focus on client satisfaction possess high-level communication and interpersonal skills with an interest in training developing and supporting staff and have experience working in a cooperative team environment.
  • Primary interface with clients on project coordination and design.
  • Responsible to technical content and quality control / assurance of accuracy.
  • Establish project fees and schedules.
  • Track project budget and timing to ensure fulfillment of contract commitments and profitability.
  • Provide construction administration support.
  • Communicate with design consultants municipalities contractors and clients.
  • Ability to conduct site visits and inspections as necessary to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications :

  • B.S. Degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • P.E. License in Washington State.
  • HEC-RAS and SRH2D.
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of codes regulations and standards applicable to the design and construction of fish passage and stream restoration projects in Washington State. 
  • Permitting experience with various environmental regulators such as WDFW and USACE.
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication teamwork and collaborative skills are essential.
  • Competency accountability and personal commitment to deliver quality work to our clients.

Additional Information :

Physical Demands of the Work Environment

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while working on a computer reviewing plans or attending meetings.
  • Occasionally it may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
  • Occasionally visiting project locations and performing field inspections which may involve walking standing kneeling or navigating uneven terrain.

Compensation
The base salary for this role is competitive with a range of $00 determined by experience education and skills. KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions. Additional details about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
