Job Summary
Job Description
- Lead the planning and implementation of software/application development projects within the insurance sector ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Define project scope objectives and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop detailed project plans including resource allocation timelines and budgets and monitor progress against these plans.
- Facilitate regular project meetings providing status updates to stakeholders and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers QA testers and business analysts to ensure successful project execution and integration of solutions.
- Implement and manage project change requests in a systematic way to minimize disruption and ensure project objectives are met.
- Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track progress manage risks and ensure accountability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations particularly those specific to the insurance sector.
- Conduct project post-mortems to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement applying insights to future projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure project success.
- Bachelors degree in Project Management Business Administration Computer Science or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g. PMP Agile Scrum) is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the insurance industry with a focus on software/application development projects.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies (Agile Waterfall etc.) and project management tools (e.g. JIRA Microsoft Project Trello).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in managing projects related to insurance products underwriting processes claims management or regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of insurance industry trends regulations and best practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other project management software.
