Material Handler – Yard (day shift)

• Move required material to a designated location within the yard using an overhead crane or forklift
• Load joist and deck and other material on the trailers for shipping
• Complete daily pre-use inspection prior to using a crane and other material handling equipment
• Follow and demonstrate proper rigging and chaining procedures/techniques for placement on or off trailers
• Maintain control of load at all times
• Adjust loads in place with a pry bar
• Promptly report any maintenance concerns
• Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is worn at all times
• Practice good housekeeping including 5S requirements and time management in the performance of daily duties
• Comply with all legislated and companys health safety environmental quality and Lean policies procedures and programs
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Position will require the ability to:  

• Climb steps onto trailers
• Shunt trucks as and when required
• Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions everyday
• Physical ability to continuously flip/stack materials
• Routinely lifting up to 50 lb is also required

Pay Rate: $$28.63 too $31.85 per hour
