Job Summary

The GPAAS team led by the VP of Global Policy & U.S. Access Strategies is central to AbbVies public policy business and campaign strategy operating across federal state and international landscapes. GPAAS collaborates extensively with Legal Commercial R&D Finance and Corporate Affairs to advance enterprise priorities in policy access innovation trade and pipeline development. The team comprises about 20 members and manages enterprise-critical strategies with a budget exceeding $20M. The strategic operations role reporting to the VP supports execution and cross-functional alignment through project management knowledge management budget oversight event and professional development planning and facilitation of strategic planning cycles. This position is essential for ensuring strong culture stakeholder engagement and consistent focus on enterprise-critical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of GPAAS goals through integrated plans and timelines across policy business unit and campaign workstreams ensuring alignment across interdependent priorities.
  • Partner with Government Affairs Operations to align GPAAS priorities with enterprise planning cycles.
  • Track and manage team metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for key initiatives executed across the GPAAS team and internal partners.
  • Plan and facilitate policy forums team meetings and strategic offsites; capture key decisions and drive accountability and follow-through.
  • Lead annual strategic planning process bringing in external experts to inform strategic priorities and aligning GPAAS planning with functional and enterprise planning processes.
  • Lead internal communications with GPAAS and partners providing progress updates on key initiatives ensuring alignment with interdependent functions and departments.
  • Manage the development of executive-level materials and presentations that synthesize legal policy commercial and access insights to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Build and maintain a centralized rapid-access repository of policy materials to support real-time use by subject matter experts and external advocacy teams.
  • Maintain continuity and institutional knowledge across overlapping priorities and establish/manage team knowledge management system(s).
  • Identify interdependencies risks and opportunities between functions and make recommendations to ensure optimal execution and results.
  • Track and manage external contracts and budgets across the team.
  • Identify and manage opportunity to enhance team culture and professional development by planning team events and workshops.

 


Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Public Policy Business Administration Political Science or a related field
  • 3 years of relevant experience required
  • Experience in healthcare policy (preferred) strategy/operations consulting or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives across legal commercial and policy stakeholders.
  • Strong synthesis analytical and executive communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint Excel Word SharePoint) Canva and experience leveraging generative AI tools for research analysis and strategic communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing timelines exercise sound judgment and operate effectively in fast-paced high-visibility environments.

Travel: 510% (U.S.; occasional international)

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
