The Blackheath Hospital in London is part of Circle Health Group Britains leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Phlebotomist to join their team of staff in thePathology department.

This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Perform venepuncture procedures safely and accurately in accordance with clinical protocols.
• Provide reassurance and support to patients using a calm and professional approach to reduce anxiety or discomfort.
• Identify patients correctly using established safety protocols and confirm tests required prior to blood draw.
• Label all specimens clearly and accurately ensuring correct patient details and test requirements.
• Prepare package and transport samples in line with pathology protocols infection prevention guidance and safety standards.
• Complete necessary paperwork or electronic data entry accurately ensuring traceability and compliance with data protection regulations.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Experience in Phlebotomy in a healthcare or clinical setting.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
• Understanding of infection prevention patient identification procedures and specimen handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Formal training or certification in Phlebotomy (Level 2 or equivalent).
• Experience working in hospitals GP practices or private healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of electronic patient records or laboratory systems.
• Understanding of safeguarding and patient confidentiality standards.
