Empowerment Squared is looking for Community Space Attendants for casual occasional work.
Reporting to the Operations and Administration team Community Space Attendants are responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations maintenance and safety of assigned facilities during community space rentals. This role ensures that buildings and rentable spaces are well-maintained and prepared for internal use and external renters. This position works limited hours.
Hours:
On call for shifts as community space rentals are scheduled with notification of availability to be confirmed at least two weeks prior to community space rental date. This position is required to work in-person at the Empowerment Squared offices in Hamilton Ontario during evening hours (5:00 PM - 11:00 PM) and/or weekend hours (Saturday and Sundays 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM) to accommodate community space rental schedules with occasional work in the day time hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 pm). All necessary precautions would be taken in accordance with health & safety guidelines. There is no guarantee of hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service and User Support
- Greet and assist community space users visitors or community members
- Provide general information
- Conduct facility tours for prospective community space users (if during an existing rental)
- Ensure all attendees of the rental have a completed waiver and sign in
- Ensure renters follow all community space rules and proper use of equipment
- Handle community space rental customer feedback complaints and conflict resolution calmly and professionally
- Community Space Rental Setup
- Set up spaces for rentals
- Ensure correct arrangement of tables chairs AV equipment sports equipment and signage
- Verify spaces are clean safe and ready prior to each rental
- Oversee reset of spaces between community space rentals or programs
- Community Space Operations and Safety
- Oversee day-to-day facility operations during assigned shifts
- Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure cleanliness functionality and safety
- Maintain logs incident reports report and Report and track maintenance issues (lighting HVAC equipment flooring)
- Monitor compliance with fire codes occupancy limits and safety regulations
- Respond to emergencies or incidents following established procedures

Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- Experience working in facility or rental coordination
- Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with community members in a wide range of capacities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to follow and enforce policies and procedures
- Experience in creating and presenting compelling presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Excellent organizational and program management abilities.
- Proficiency in computers Google Suite and CRM systems.
- Strong solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to problem-solve adapt and pivot.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity accountability honesty and transparency.
- Demonstrate a strong team spirit working cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues and maintaining a positive and encouraging attitude.
- Proven ability to exercise diplomacy professionalism and good judgment.
- Valid driver license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Compensation
