Position Details
Position: Floor Technician
Location: Lumberton North Carolina
Compensation: starting base pay $14 per hr. with an extra $2 per hour available if you choose to opt out of benefits
Schedule: Monday Friday 8am -4pm
Purpose and Summary
As a Floor Technician your primary responsibility will be to uphold the cleanliness safety and aesthetic standards of GlenFloras physical environment. This role focuses on maintaining all types of flooring surfaces providing a safe attractive and clean space for our residents staff and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Regularly inspect and assess the condition of floors to determine the appropriate treatment needed
Operate and maintain a variety of floor maintenance equipment such as buffers scrubbers and vacuums
Perform cleaning stripping sealing and waxing on various types of flooring
Conduct carpet cleaning tasks including shampooing bonnet cleaning and hot water extraction
Remove stains and debris using suitable cleaning products and techniques
Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies when necessary
Assist with moving furniture and heavy items to ensure thorough cleaning
Dry mop and damp mop all assigned areas as required
Clean all rooms shower areas and dining spaces using proper methods and precautions
Adhere strictly to safety standards and infection control procedures
Promptly report any repairs unsafe conditions hazards accidents or incidents to your supervisor
Evaluate new floor maintenance products and systems as directed
Safely transfer chemicals and maintain confidentiality at all times
Participate in required educational programs and training sessions
Exemplify LSCs mission vision values and customer service standards in every interaction
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Experience: Prior experience in floor or environmental services and familiarity with floor machines and equipment is preferred
Skills/Abilities: Understanding of environmental concepts and standards; ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Frequent heavy lifting is required (up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds routinely)
Must be ambulatory and able to climb ladders stoop and bend at the waist repeatedly
A good sense of smell and the ability to distinguish odors is necessary
