Limited teaching experience:Applicants who are not certified teachers will be supported with mentorship and instructional coaching to learn best practices in teaching and learning aswellas completing the states process for alternative teacher licensure.
Career and Technical Authorization:Applicants DO NOT need to be certified teachers to apply. The Initial Career and Technical Authorization can be obtained through the Board of Educational Examiners. This alternative license is valid for three years and may be issued to an applicant who has 6000 hours (or 4000 hours and a bachelors degree) working in an approved career and technical area and if a district conducted a diligent search to find a fully licensed applicant. To convert to the full career and technical authorization the applicant must complete the requirements in 282-22.9(6). Renewal: The full career and technical authorization is valid for five years and requires six renewal credits and the mandatory reporter training certificate.
Required:
Valid Iowa teaching license (appropriate endorsement code for teaching assignment).
Knowledge of subject curriculum effective teaching methods.
Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communications.

Previous classroom teaching experience.

Responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program to meet childrens academic and social-emotional needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Deliver daily lessons aligned to state and district standards that meet students individual needs and ensure growth.
Create a culturally inclusive classroom that meets the academic and social emotional needs of students.
Participate in building and district professional learning communities to plan for instruction analyze data and create assessments.
Monitor student learning on a daily basis. Use multiple data points to guide and individualize instruction.
Communicate with families on a regular basis.
Participate in professional development.
Demonstrate consistent progress on meeting the eight Iowa Teaching Standards
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):
Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
Maintain confidentiality.
Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
