POSITION OVERVIEW Joining the Infrastructure Managed Services team at a Level 9 capacity this role focuses on the stability and performance of IBM AS/400 systems. The mission is to ensure seamless midrange operations through expert administration hardware maintenance and rigorous system monitoring.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform IBM i administration including system installs PTF deployment and software configuration.
- Manage HMC maintenance and execute system firmware and software installations.
- Monitor daily system integrity verifying hardware server resources and key processes.
- Review system and application logs to ensure successful completion of scheduled jobs and backups.
- Perform problem isolation and resolution for system application and customer-related issues.
- Provide monthly reporting on system performance and assist with capacity planning.
