Job Summary
Overview
The Parts Runner is responsible for but not limited to picking up and delivering equipment parts and supplies to and from jobsites vendors and the Corporate Equipment Center location.
Responsibilities
- Material Pickup and Delivery: Your primary responsibility is to retrieve materials from suppliers and deliver them to the construction site. This could involve driving a company vehicle to pick up items from warehouses hardware stores or other suppliers and then transporting them safely to the jobsite.
- Organization and Storage: Ensure that materials are stored in designated areas on the jobsite keeping them organized and easily accessible to the construction crews. Proper organization helps prevent delays and improves overall efficiency.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with supervisors project managers and construction crews to understand their material needs and priorities. Communicate any delays or issues with material deliveries promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing duties on the jobsite. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe operating procedures when handling materials and equipment.
- Problem Solving: Be proactive in addressing any issues that arise related to material deliveries or inventory management. This may involve finding alternative suppliers coordinating with other team members to resolve logistical challenges or troubleshooting delivery delays.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of material deliveries including quantities types of materials and delivery dates. This documentation helps track inventory levels and ensures accountability for materials used on the project.
- General Support: Provide general support to the construction team as needed. This could include assisting with cleanup efforts loading and unloading materials or performing other tasks to help maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid drivers license with the ability to pass an annual MVR.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Perform all duties in a timely and safe manner. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to comprehend safety standards operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Must be self-motivated and work productively.
- Must also be able to understand information ideas direction and perform the task or project discussed.
- Must have reliable means of arriving and leaving from work at scheduled start and stop times.
- Adheres to all company client and project policies procedures standards including but not limited to the safety manual and the employee handbook.
- Ability to qualify to drive under the companys published Employee Driving Records Policy.
