What you will be doing:
This is not a traditional marketing position-itsa strategic leadership opportunity to build and modernize how Pacific engages its alumni community. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement this role serves as the chief storyteller and architect of a multi-channel engagement strategy designed to deepen alumni connection participation and long-term support.
Youlllead the development of a modern engagement ecosystem-blending data storytelling events and emerging technologies-to transform alumni into active ambassadors volunteers and donors. At a time of institutional momentum and celebration your work will directly shape how Pacific shows up to its alumni community.
How you will spend your time:
Transformative Communications & Strategy
- Architect the Narrative:Develop and implement a high-level multi-channel integratedmarketingand communications plan to inspire lifelong loyalty among current and future alumni.
- Brand Stewardship:Act as the primary guardian of the Pacific Alumni brandensuringevery campaign resonates with quality and consistency.
- Pioneer the Future:Lead the integration of AI and emerging tools toidentifyand connect with untapped alumni populations.
- Data-Driven Storytelling:Utilizeadvanced metrics and CASE standards to measure impact andoptimizeour engagementstrategies.
- Creative Innovation:Design and implement compelling programs and content across all platformsfrom high-impact events to social media and emailsto engage alumni and strengthen their connection to the university.
- Strategic Projects:Plan develop and implement programs and projects that strategically engage alumni in strengthening their relationship with the University.
Strategic Leadership & High-Impact Collaboration
- Staff Mentorship:Provide direct leadership and supervisory oversight formember(s)of the Alumni Engagement team. Additionally manage department staff and programs in the absence of the Assistant Vice President.
- Executive Liaison:Serve as a strategic partner to the Pacific Alumni Association (PAA) Board driving focused volunteer leadership and service toPacific.
- Institutional Synergy:Collaborate across campus to align alumni activities and communications with broader university goals and successful joint programming across all campuses.
- Development Synergy:Partner with Development colleagues to bridge the gap between engagement and philanthropy cultivating the next generation of Pacific donors.
The Active Experience: Events & Engagement
- You willrepresentPacificat our most vital alumni gatherings. This role requires a high-energy professional whothrivesin a dynamic environment.
- Flagship Events:Orchestrate and host signature experiences including reunions regionaleventsand committee meetings.
- Hands-On Execution:Beyond the desk this role is a physically active event-based position that focuses on the end-to-end execution of events. It involves active event setup hosting andbreak down.
- Community Connection:Foster genuine relationships by being present where alumni are whether that is on campus or at regional events.
Experience You Will Bring:
- Bachelors degree
- At least five (5) years of progressive experience in marketing communications development or alumni relations
- At least one (1) year of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead integrated marketing and communications strategies
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders
- Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of alumni engagement best practices and metrics (e.g. CASE standards)
- Experience using CRM/database tools (e.g. Blackbaud) and communication analytics
- Proven ability to lead teams develop talent and foster collaboration
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work evenings/weekends and travel as needed
