2 x 12-hour shifts (07:00 AM 07:30 PM)
2 x 8-hour shifts (07:00 AM 03:00 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and dependable Mental Therapy Aide / Mental Health Technician (MHT) to support patients in a behavioral health setting. This role is responsible for assisting with both direct and indirect patient care while promoting a safe structured and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with clinical staff to support high-quality patient care and positive treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff
Measure and accurately record vital signs and patient observations
Assist with patient admissions documentation and physical assessments
Monitor and document patient intake and output
Collect specimens as required
Safely transport patients within the facility
Orient patients to unit routines policies and expectations
Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene support
Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients
Support patient participation in therapeutic and recreational activities
Respond appropriately to crisis situations and escalate concerns when necessary
Maintain a safe and secure environment including conducting routine safety checks
Communicate patient status updates effectively to the care team
Required Qualifications
Recent experience working with psychiatric or behavioral health patients preferred (within the last 2 years)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Basic understanding of medical terminology
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Must meet all pre-employment health screening requirements
