Overview

We are an early-stage edtech startup building software used by U.S. schools. This role is designed to focus on product training customer onboarding and successful adoption of the platform by school staff.

In this role you will spend most of your time leading training sessions supporting onboarding and helping customers understand how to use the system effectively in their day-to-day work. You will work directly with the founder and play a key role in ensuring schools are confident and successful once they go live.

This is a hands-on execution-focused customer-facing role. You will develop deep familiarity with real-world school workflows common challenges and how customers interact with the product. Your work will directly influence customer satisfaction and retention by improving understanding confidence and correct system usage.

Responsibilities

Product Training & Customer Enablement (Primary Focus)

  • Lead product walkthroughs during kickoff onboarding and training sessions
  • Train school staff on effective and correct system usage
  • Explain workflows constraints and best practices in clear nontechnical terms
  • Ensure customers are confident operating the product independently after go-live
  • Identify common points of confusion and continuously improve training materials and explanations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for product-related learning during onboarding

Customer Onboarding & Discovery

  • Participate in onboarding calls and lead the product-focused portion of discussions
  • Ask structured questions to understand how each school operates
  • Observe how customers actually use (or struggle with) the product
  • Identify where customer needs alignor do not alignwith current system capabilities
  • Document feedback gaps edge cases and usage patterns in a clear structured format
  • Share insights regularly with the founder to improve training and customer guidance

Sales Support (Selective)

  • Join select sales calls especially with larger or more complex school districts
  • Act as a product expert explaining functionality and workflows in practical terms
  • Answer product usage and process-related questions
  • Contribute insights from sales conversations to improve training materials and customer expectations

Requirements

Core Capabilities

  • Strong written and verbal English; ability to communicate clearly with U.S.-based school administrators
  • Comfortable leading training sessions and explaining systems step by step
  • Patient clear communicator with nontechnical users
  • Able to manage structured conversations and ask thoughtful follow-up questions
  • Independent organized and self-directed

Technical Comfort

  • Proficiency with modern software tools (Google Workspace spreadsheets documents)
  • Ability to understand and explain system workflows and constraints
  • Familiarity with tools such as Figma ticketing systems or similar is a plus
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technical concepts quickly

Background (At Least One of the Following)

  • Product support or customer support in a software environment
  • Customer success onboarding implementation or training roles
  • Business analysis or operational roles involving systems or workflows
  • Technical operational or process-focused roles
  • Edtech or education experience is helpful but not required
