Special Education Coordinator
Job Description
Reports To: Director of Special Education Executive Director of Student Support Services
Position Summary:
- Assist the Director of Special Education with the coordination and administration of district-operated Special Education programs
- Assist with the supervision and coordination of the District-provided classroom and ancillary services recommending changes and additions as needed
- Keeps informed of all Federal and State legal requirements governing Special Education policies and procedures
- Provide the district with technical assistance for the implementation of State and Federal Special Education rules and regulations
- Facilitate professional development activities district-wide for both special education and general education staff
- Provides technical assistance in and implements procedures for referral evaluation placement assignment and re-evaluation of students concerning the Special Education services program.
- Serves as a resource to the principal evaluator of all special education personnel working in specific schools.
- Develops and maintains complete and cumulative individual records of all children receiving special services or enrolled in special classes.
- Assists with evaluating on an ongoing basis the total special education program curriculum procedures and individual students needs and achievements.
- Consult with parents of students enrolled in the program.
- Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and development; for keeping current with the literature new research findings and improved techniques; for attending appropriate professional meetings and conventions.

Qualifications
Special Education Certification
- Mild-Moderate; and/or
- Severe-Profound
- Minimum of at least 5 years of experience in teaching special education (preference will be given to those who have taught mild-moderate and severe-profound disabilities)
Salary and Benefits
- Salary based on experience based on a 200-day contract
- Insurance- health dental and vision paid for contract employee
- 401K- 7% based on total compensation starting after 6 months of employment
- 10 days PTO
