Location: Ithaca NY

Duration:13 Week
Shift: Day Shift & Night Shift Available
Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
Shift Timing:

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) for an Acute Care Float Pool position. This role requires flexibility to float across multiple units including ICU Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process (assessment planning implementation evaluation)
• Float between ICU Med/Surg and ED units as required
• Monitor patient conditions administer medications and evaluate responses
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Respond effectively in high-acuity and emergency situations
• Follow safety infection control and hospital policies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Active RN license (State-specific)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
• Ability to independently float to at least 2 of the following units: ICU Med/Surg ED
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to float across all three units (ICU Med/Surg ED)
• Previous float pool experience
• Experience in high-acuity settings
