Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Medical Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will have recent acute care experience and the ability to manage patient assignments while working collaboratively under the supervision of an RN.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Med Surg setting under RN supervision
• Monitor vital signs intake/output and patient condition
• Administer medications via multiple routes (oral IM SQ NG/G-tube etc.)
• Perform IV therapy using pumps and monitor blood glucose levels
• Assist with wound care dressing changes and drain management
• Manage oxygen therapy and feeding tubes
• Perform Foley catheter insertion and specimen collection
• Monitor telemetry and perform 12-lead EKGs
• Communicate patient status changes to RN/MD promptly
• Maintain accurate documentation using EMR systems

Schedule & Work Environment

• Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Acute care hospital setting
• Floating required within scope of practice

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

• Active New York LPN License (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS Certification (required)
• Recent acute care experience within the last 2 years
• Experience working in a Med Surg/Telemetry setting
• Experience with EPIC charting

Required Clinical Skills

• Vital signs pain assessment and intake/output monitoring
• Oxygen administration (nasal cannula)
• Feeding tube management
• Telemetry monitoring and EKG
• Medication administration across multiple routes
• IV therapy with pumps
• Blood glucose monitoring
• Basic wound care and drain management
• Foley catheter insertion and urine specimen collection
• Infection control and isolation precautions
