Job Type: 13-Week Contract
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: Night Shift (3x12 Hours)
- Timing: 07:00 PM 07:00 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 Hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (including holidays as scheduled)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a fast-paced acute care environment in Syracuse NY. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in respiratory care and experience working independently including providing care to pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapies including aerosol and positive pressure treatments
- Initiate and monitor oxygen therapy for a variety of respiratory conditions
- Assist with intubation and mechanical ventilation management
- Monitor ventilated patients and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling via radial arterial puncture
- Conduct pulmonary function testing
- Respond to emergencies including CPR and airway management
- Provide care to both adult and pediatric populations
- Accurately document patient care in EMR systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Associate Degree (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy (Required)
- Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License/Registration
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience (post-degree)
- Pediatric experience preferred
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Strong knowledge of ventilators and respiratory care practices
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting
