Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: New York NY
Duration: 8 Weeks (Contract)
Shift: Day Shift (9:00 AM 5:00 PM)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will ensure patient safety produce accurate diagnostic images and maintain compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols
- Position patients and equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images
- Educate patients regarding procedures and safety precautions
- Review patient safety screening forms prior to imaging
- Ensure all images are properly labeled and transferred to PACS systems
- Evaluate image quality and repeat scans when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation in Radiology Information Systems (RIS/IDX)
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of MRI suites and equipment
- Monitor inventory and maintain adequate supplies
- Assist physicians and healthcare staff as needed
- Adhere to MRI safety protocols and infection control standards
- Report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions promptly
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State DOH Radiography License (required)
- ARRT MRI Certification (preferred)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of MRI physics cross-sectional anatomy and imaging techniques
- Excellent technical organizational and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
- Experience in hospital or high-volume imaging settings
