Electronics and Instrumentation Technician
Job Summary
Responsibilities
Install commission and maintain electronic and instrumentation equipment (sensors transmitters control valves PLC/DCS systems) in offshore environments.
Perform calibration and preventive maintenance of instruments such as pressure temperature flow and level devices.
Diagnose and repair faults in electronic circuits control loops and instrumentation systems under offshore operating conditions.
Interpret and update electrical/instrumentation drawings P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
Support shutdowns commissioning and plant upgrades in collaboration with electrical and mechanical teams.
Ensure compliance with offshore safety standards ISO/IEC codes and company HSE policies.
Document calibration maintenance and repair activities for audit and compliance purposes.
Requirements
Qualifications
Diploma/Certificate in Electronics Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum X years of offshore experience in oil & gas shipyard or marine environments.
Hands-on experience with PLCs SCADA/DCS systems and field instrumentation.
Knowledge of vendor-specific systems (e.g. Yokogawa Emerson Honeywell).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in offshore conditions.
Familiarity with calibration tools and software.
Skills
Offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET).
H2S awareness and offshore medical fitness certification.
Experience with SAP/ERP systems for maintenance documentation.
