Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40different typesof primary care and specialty practices whichallowsthose who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

The Nursing Manager coordinates manages and supervises the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing services unit of the hospital. This role collaborates with the leadership team to develop site and service goals providing input related to the development and management of the budget. The Nursing Manager develops policies and procedures in coordination with other leaders to support services in the provision of excellent clinical services.

Essential Functions

  • Assumes day-to-day accountability for the delivery of quality services by directing the nursing assessment of all patients. Observes nursing care to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatment is administered in accordance to physician instructions. Directs the preparation and maintenance of patients clinical records. Accompanies physicians on rounds and keeps informed of special orders concerning patients. Orders or directs ordering of drugs solutions and equipment and maintains records on narcotics.

  • Manages the activities of professional clinical technical and support staff. Facilitates the training and continuing education of employees. Provides direction and support to subordinates to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Selects trains develop and evaluate subordinates and initiates personnel actions in accordance with departmental policies and organization philosophy.

  • Anticipates customer needs and manages the provision of services to all customers including patients physicians hospital departments and employees. Ensures that employees respond to requests for services information records and data on a timely basis. Researches and resolves problems.

  • Manages nursing services to ensure that services are provided in accordance with state and Federal regulations organizational policy and accreditation / compliance requirements.

  • Develops implements and maintains departmental annual operating budgets ensuring that operations are managed within established guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Required

  • Skills knowledge abilities typically gained through 3 years of related experience of post anesthesia clinical. Required

  • 1 year of relevant experience supervisory experience. Required

  • Experience working in an organization of size and complexity comparable to Corewell Health. Required

  • Skills knowledge abilities typically gained through related experience. Required

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan. Required
