About the role
We are seeking a Finance Specialist to join our Cash Management & Forecasting team. This role will be pivotal in supporting daily monthly and annual cash forecasting activities and ensuring effective management of client bank accounts particularly as new clients are onboarded.

What its like to work in the Finance Services team
We are a well established finance shared services team with a supportive and collaborative culture entering a period of growth and transformation. Our teams deliver high quality financial transaction processing and specialist finance support on behalf of government clients from invoice processing through to audit support.

Our team is made up of a variety of professional backgrounds and experience levels. We offer hybrid working with flexibility around full time or part time hours and core working hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Colleagues can be based in Swindon Newport or Stockton on Tees depending on what works best for them and the business.

The duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare daily monthly and annual cash forecasts for submission to HM Treasury
  • Monitor client bank accounts to ensure they remain within agreed limits
  • Manage online banking access ensuring appropriate controls are in place
  • Authorise BACS payments in line with agreed processes
  • Prepare and maintain forecasting spreadsheets outturns and bank statements
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Actively support continuous improvement and process review activities

To be considered for this role you will demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience and knowledge within cash management and forecasting
  • Good knowledge of SaaS solutions such as Oracle Workday or SAP
  • High attention to detail ensuring accuracy of financial data and documentation
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on delivery
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including advanced Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrates UKSBS core values and behaviours
  • Experience in a shared service or customerfocused environment and a finance qualification would be advantageous but are not essential
