Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technician to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in a high-acuity hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong scrub experience technical expertise in cardiac catheterization and the ability to assist physicians during complex cardiovascular interventions.
Responsibilities
Prepare sterile trays and organize specialized equipment for each procedure
Prepare patients for procedures including EKG lead placement skin prep and sterile draping
Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
Support procedures such as angioplasty atherectomy valvuloplasty IVUS pulmonary angiograms and stent placement
Operate power injectors and assist with imaging technologies
Calibrate and monitor transducers for accurate hemodynamic readings
Maintain and operate digital imaging systems ensuring proper storage and retrieval of patient data
Assist in emergency situations to support patient stabilization
Assist with sheath removal and vascular closure device procedures
Maintain inventory levels and ensure availability of necessary supplies
Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on equipment
Provide patient-centered care while considering age cultural and communication needs
Adhere to all safety infection control and organizational standards
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab or invasive procedure setting in an acute care hospital
Experience gained through a CVT-accredited program (612 months) or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and sterile techniques
Required Skills
Proficiency in cardiac catheterization procedures
Cath Lab scrub experience (required)
Familiarity with interventional cardiac procedures and equipment
Strong technical analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in peripheral or neurovascular procedures (preferred but not required)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. push/pull up to 100 lbs.
Ability to stand for extended periods (minimum 4 hours/day)
