Job Summary
Weighing the jockeys in and out.
Taking entries.
Drawing of entries scratches and naming of riders.
Proof reading of program.
Filing of foal papers.
Verify the record of winning races of apprentice jockeys.
Verify any jockey changes.
Back-up for Program Coordinator.
Report any and all changes to stewards announcer TV Control Mutuels Equibase Commentators. record all required data on scale sheets and submit data to the horsemens bookkeeper.
Deliver claim slips to trainers when horse is claimed.
All other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Knowledge of rules and regulations of Racing. Also must have knowledge of the Ohio Rules of be able to work flexible two (2) years experience as a Clerk of Scales. 5 Years experience in thoroughbred experience required.
Must be able to stand/walk/ sit for extended periods. May be exposed to working in a noisy smoke/secondary smoke environment.
Must be at least 21. Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing. Must be able to pass a background investigation.
