Priority will be given to candidates who are fluent in both Opportunity: The Bilingual Payroll and Benefits Analyst will provide technical support and be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the payroll and benefit administration functions of the company while ensuring payroll and ESA compliance. Processes multi-province bi-weekly payrolls for salaried hourly commission employees including employer and employee payroll taxes benefits and other deductionsUpdates and maintains employee records in the HRISAssist with troubleshooting technical issues with DayforceProvide support and act as a back-up to senior team membersAssists in the administration of the group benefit plan which includes regular communication with members and maintaining files. Prepares and sends Records of Employment (ROE) Responds to employee questions in a timely manner as they relate to payroll and benefitsAssist with performing audits on data and system maintenance including but not limited to new hire set up tax forms direct deposit set up benefits set up terminations and garnishment processingAssist with identifying automation opportunities within Dayforce Assist with Work Force ManagementPerforms other duties as assigned by managementAdhere to policies/ Requirements Needed: Post-secondary education with a focus on Information Technology Business Administration / Accounting Completed or working towards completing the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation with the NPI1 to 3 years of experience processing a full cycle payroll for multiple provinces is an asset1 to 3 years of payroll software experience is an asset1 to 3 years of benefit administration experience additional experience is considered an assetBilingualism (French English) required interactions with English and French speaking customers or partners Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint Word Excel SQL and Power BI)Proven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExperience working as part of a team and individuallyKnowledge and understanding of various provincial legislation requirements employment standards and Canada Revenue Agency as it relates to payroll and benefitsProven analytical and data entry skills with acute attention to detailVery detailed and process orientedStrong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to interact with various levels of employees and managementHigh degree of confidentiality and discretion Relationships:External: Payroll system providers benefit consultants benefit : All levels of management and Environment and Physical Demands Analysis:Office environmentPeriods of high volume with tight timelinesOccasional overtime may be requiredLong periods of stationary position/sittingProlonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)Long periods of time in viewing a computer screenMulti-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer programWhy join First NationalCompetitive Compensation Comprehensive benefits program (i.e. Health Spending Account Maternity and Parental Leave Top Up)Extensive training programs to set our employees up for success Modern office environment conducive to collaborationSupportive teamwork culture Opportunities to give back to the communities and work through events focused on a variety of charities Ongoing social events throughout the year The team youll join: Founded in 1988 First National is one of Canadas largest non-bank lenders.
