Job Summary

Essex North Shore is seeking a licensed Early Childhood Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year for our Early Educationand Care Program.

  • Licensed or licensable as an Early Education and Care teacher by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
  • Three years of recent full-time experience directly related to early education and care.
  • OSHA General 30-Hour certification preferred but required within three years of employment.
  • OSHA Train-the-Trainer certification preferred but required within five years of employment.
  • Satisfactory CORI SAFIS and SORI.
  • Bilingual preferred.

CAREER TECHNICAL & AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION TEACHER

FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT (FLSA) CLASSIFICATION:

This position is classified as Exempt (Professional).

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

The CTAE Teacher reports to the Coordinator of Career Technical Agricultural and Education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Appropriate Licensure by DESE in Career Area.
  2. General or Construction OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred but required within three years of employment.
  3. OSHA Train-the-Trainer certification preferred but required within five years of employment.

DUTIES:

  1. Map each grade curriculum to the State Frameworks.
  2. Provide instruction in the content in accordance with the Massachusetts Vocational-Technical Frameworks in the specified career area.
  3. Enforce all OSHA safety regulations within the career education setting.
  4. Instruct students in the field when participating in outside projects.
  5. Document student performance student behavior and student achievement within the career education setting.
  6. Provides review and reinforcement of new concepts; supports students in the completion of their assigned tasks.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge of students IEPs as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments tests and quizzes in collaboration with special educators if required.
  8. Develop resources for students to be successful such as models graphic organizers and copies of class notes video clips demonstrations etc.
  9. Participate as a member of the career area department; collaborate with teachers within the department.
  10. Collaborate with teachers in academic disciplines to facilitate learning activities that are cross-curricular and project-based.
  11. Collaborate with the Cooperative Education Teachers to place students in positions in their career areas.
  12. Maintain documentation including student performance behavior progress data notation of student absences/tardies and conversations with parents and administrators.
  13. Provide content support outside of the general education classroom as necessary.
  14. Integrate technology into the curriculum.
  15. Respond to any correspondence both oral and written that comes from a parent or guardian.
  16. Participate in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas.
  17. Attend Advisory Board meetings twice per year; attend Open House.
  18. Keep current with changes in your career area; collaborate with Advisory Boards members.
  19. Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the Coordinator of Career Technical & Agricultural Education.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. This is a 10-month position.
  2. He/she/they must obtain General or Construction OSHA 30-Hour Certification within three years of employment.
  3. He/she/they must obtain Train-the-Trainer within five years of employment.
  4. The nature of this position requires hours beyond the regular contractual day. It is expected that the person filling this position will give priority to completing the necessary tasks and set hours outside of the contractual day accordingly.
  5. Salary and fringe benefits are established by the Superintendent-Director in accordance with the HTF Collective Bargaining Agreement in effect.
