Pikiskwewin Project Coordinator Term positionIndigenous Communications and Fine ArtsRegina CampusThe Project Coordinatorwill work closely with the Executive Producerto coordinate the development production and promotion of podcast series for the pîkiskwê Indigenous Language Podcast Coordinator will play a central role in managing project activities supporting podcast development with language speakers and learners maintaining the project website and digital platforms coordinating social media promotion and supporting financial tracking and reporting requirements for the Canadian Heritage contribution role combines media production coordination communications research support project administration and financial First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv) allows students of all nations to learn in an environment of First Nations cultures and values. The University continues to uphold its mission of enhancing the quality of life and preserving protecting and interpreting First Nations peoples history language culture and artistic is a unique learning place specializing in Indigenous knowledge and providing post-secondary education for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students within a culturally supportive First Nations University of Canada is a federated college of the University of Regina and its academic programs are accredited through that values include wisdom respect humility sharing harmony beauty strength and : Podcast Development and ProductionWork closely with the Executive Producer to support development of new podcast seriesCoordinate podcast planning meetings and production schedulesAssist with planning and organizing podcast interviewsSupport collaborations with Indigenous language speakers Elders teachers and learnersHelp organize scripts recordings and production materialsAssist in developing innovative podcast formats to support language learningCommunity and Radio PartnershipsWork with Indigenous community radio stations and national Indigenous radio networks to identify language programming that can be adapted into podcastsAssist in capturing and producing language content from radio programmingCoordinate guest interviews with language speakers and educatorsSupport partnerships with Indigenous media organizations across CanadaArchival Podcast DevelopmentAssist in identifying archival recordings that can be developed into podcast seriesWork with partners to prepare archival audio materials for publicationSupport development of archival storytelling projects and language resourcesWebsite ManagementMaintaining and improving pîkiskwê a central include:Reviewing and updating website contentUploading podcast episodes and media materialsPreparing episode descriptions and metadataUploading photos host biographies and language learning resourcesEnsuring consistency in formatting and presentation across the siteMonitoring the website for technical issues or outdated contentPodcast Content PreparationAssist in preparing materials accompanying each podcast episode including:Host and producer biographiesEpisode summaries and descriptionsPhotos and captionsLinks to language-learning resourcesEducational or learning materials related to podcast topicsSocial Media ManagementManage and develop social media for the pîkiskwêwin podcast include:YouTubeLinkedInFacebookProject Administration and Financial TrackingThe Project Coordinator will support project administration and financial management tasks including:Tracking project budgets and expendituresMaintaining a project budget spreadsheetPreparing expense forms through the universitys online systemEntering financial information into AcumaticaAssisting with preparation and tracking of invoicesMaintaining organized project recordsConsent Permissions and ContractsBecause the project involves recording and sharing Indigenous language knowledge careful documentation is include:Maintaining participant tracking lists for podcast contributorsAdministering consent and permission formsEnsuring documentation aligns with OCAP principles(Ownership Control Access and Possession)Maintaining secure records of permissions and agreementsAssisting with contracts and logistical arrangements includingspeaker agreementshotel and venue contracts for project events and conferencesReporting and Compliance (Canadian Heritage)The Project Coordinator will assist the Executive Producer in ensuring that the project meets the reporting requirements of the Canadian Heritage Indigenous Languages contribution include:Assisting with preparation of Interim Activity and Results ReportsAssisting with preparation of Final Activity and Results ReportsSupporting preparation of Cash Flow reports and expenditure summariesMaintaining documentation related to project outputs and outcomesTracking podcast production community participation and audience reachCompiling materials required for project reporting including:website analyticspodcast metricscommunity participationevent documentationMaintaining organized project files to support audits and financial reportingQualifications:Applicants must have a Masters degree and at minimum three (3) years of experience working in a post-secondary context. Knowledge Skills And Abilities RequiredKnowledge of First Nations history cultural diversity values and traditional ways of knowing being and using Microsoft 365 (Word Excel PowerPoint Teams)Experience in website maintenance is preferredExperienced project manager preferredExcellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to plan to manage several projects at once while maintaining collaboratively as a member of a team and demonstrated ability to work independently.
