Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Room provides critical care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment the ability to respond to high-acuity situations and experience in emergency nursing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver emergency nursing care to patients with a wide range of acute conditions.
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on severity.
- Administer medications IV therapies and emergency interventions.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care.
- Document patient care using systems such as Epic Systems.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Night shifts (12-hour shifts)
- Full-time schedule (3 shifts per week)
- Emergency department setting
- No block scheduling
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact required at submission)
- Minimum 18 months of recent Emergency Department experience
- Minimum 18 months of prior permanent (non-travel) experience in ER
- Certifications required (must be in hand):
- BLS from American Heart Association or equivalent
- ACLS from American Heart Association or equivalent
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments
Preferred Qualifications
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
