Job purpose

BorgWarner Drivetrain and Morse Systems is currently looking for a talented individual to join as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op Engine Solenoids at our Powertrain Technical Center Auburn Hills MI.

This position would start in May 2026 and end in December 2026. A typical student in this program works 30-40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Assists in design development and validation of new products

• Works with product engineers to support prototype builds with documentation and data processing

• Works with CAD designers or individually to develop tooling used for assembly performance and validation testing

• Gathers benchmarking data (performance design manufacturing strategy) of competitors products and documents with reports

• Assists test engineers in managing test plans setting up durability tests and writing reports

What were looking for

• Current full-time enrollment in an accredited college university vocational/trade school.
• Ability to report onsite at least three days to our Auburn Hills Campus

• Engineering Student (Mechanical preferred)

• GPA of 3.0 or better

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Computer skills in Microsoft Office products

• Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools preferred

• Ability to report onsite

This position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program including safety rules practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual which includes the use of equipment protective devices or clothing that the employer requires. This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and addition he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations incidents or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
