Catering Assistant

Location: Oaklands Hospital Salford

Hours: 23.5 weekly hours

Shift Patterns: 1pm-7pm Friday and Saturday 7am-7pm Sunday

The role:

As a Catering Assistant you will be responsible for the service preparation and delivery of all food and drink to the patients on the wards including managing dietary requirements. You will be part of a team of Catering Assistants who are fundamental in ensuring that all work is carried out in a hygienic and methodical manner and that standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital are in line with our policies. Additional tasks will consist of the washing of cutlery replenishing our hot drinks machines and explaining the daily menus across all meals.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To obtain food and beverage orders from patients staff and visitors to the hospital

  • To assist in the preparation and service of food to patients staff and visitors to the hospital

  • To clean daily all areas of the catering department to the agreed standard

  • To have a good understanding of current health and hygiene regulations and ensure that these are adhered to in the preparation and service of all foodstuffs

What you will bring with you:

  • Catering Assistant experience from healthcare or similar industry (desired not required)

  • A willingness to work positively with a team to achieve team goals and excellence in service delivery also ability to work on your own initiative.

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate for Catering

  • Strong communication skills

  • Outstanding professional customer service and inter-personal skills

  • Friendly outgoing personality

  • Attention to detail
