The Department of Surgery Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a Professor of Clinical Surgery Division Chief Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Dentistry. The Division Chief is directly responsible to the Chair Department of Surgery University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for the Divisions overall function. The primary responsibility is to oversee complex clinical services Oral Surgery and Dentistry. This oversight includes research and education activities of the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Shape and execute an overarching strategy for differentiated excellence.

In partnership with the department UMMSOM and Jackson Memorial Hospital drive program growthin a competitive marketplace.
Grow the research and scholarship activities for Oral Surgery and Dentistry.
Serve on the Department of Surgery leadership committees.
Financial management of the division including budgeting and resource allocation to ensure a margin that supports the mission.
Develop consistent transparent norms for high performance within the division in clinical activity research education and service missions.
Ensure clinical support for new faculty members with peer mentoring from physicians with a similar practice.
Lead division planning and execution of recruitment for faculty including the Selection Committee process and documentation following Department of Surgery processes to meet UHealths requirements.
Conduct timely in-person annual reviews for each faculty member with written documentation of past performance and future goals.
Support career development for individual faculty members.
Oversee the divisions participation in Department of Surgery education programs including GME student programs.
Oversee the divisions accredited fellowship training program.
Build and strengthen educational programs and serve as a mentor and teacher to medical students residents and fellows.
Recruit faculty to the division and assume shared responsibility along with administrative executives for hiring other professional and support staff for the division.

Academic Career Achievement
Outstanding academic credentials and expertise in one or more subspecialty areas. Eligible for appointment as associate professor or professor of surgery at Miller School of Medicine.
Board Certification and Licensure
Candidates must be Board Certified licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Florida.
