We are hiring for our client for a Specification Technologist to join a busy and well-established food manufacturing business.
This Specification Technologist role is key to ensuring all product specifications artwork and technical documentation are accurate compliant and delivered within required timeframes.
The successful Specification Technologist will work closely with NPD Technical Production and Supply Chain teams supporting product launches and ensuring all customer and legal requirements are met.

The Role
Write approve and maintain finished product specifications across retailer portals
Ensure all specification data is accurate compliant and aligned with legislation
Generate ingredient declarations and validate product claims
Manage artwork approval ensuring packaging complies with legal and customer requirements
Support NPD processes from concept through to launch
Attend trials handovers and first production runs for new products
Carry out internal audits and support audit preparation activities
Maintain technical documentation including QAS CCP and nutrition data
Respond to customer queries relating to specifications
Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet critical deadlines
The Person
Degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or a related discipline
Experience using retailer specification portals (desirable)
Knowledge of food safety systems (BRC / GFSI standards preferred)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proactive self-motivated and team-oriented approach
