Supplier Quality Manager, Mechanical Parts
Job Summary
The Mechanical Supplier Quality Management (SQM) position focuses on sustaining projects and ensuring superior product quality. This role serves as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal teams to maintain component and assembly specifications across our global supply chain.

Maintain compliance with international quality standards
Detailed Responsibilities:
Quality Management
Develop and implement supplier quality assurance programs
Create and maintain supplier scorecards and performance metrics
Lead supplier quality audits and assessments
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
Manage quality documentation and reporting systems
Supplier Development
Evaluate and qualify new suppliers
Develop supplier capability improvement plans
Lead supplier process change qualifications
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews
Implement supplier quality improvement programs
Technical Leadership
Review and approve supplier control plans
Validate manufacturing processes and capabilities
Analyze quality data and trends
Provide technical guidance on tooling and manufacturing processes
Lead failure analysis investigations
Project Management
Manage multiple concurrent quality projects
Coordinate cross-functional teams
Drive on-time project completion
Report project status to senior management
Develop and track quality-related KPIs
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering electrical engineering material science physics or equivalent
- 2 years of consumer electronics experience
- Proven experience in tooling issue troubleshooting
- Proficiency in secondary processes including:
- oAssembly processes
- oCNC operations
- oLaser applications
- oAdhesive applications
- oSurface coating
- Expertise in quality tools including:
- oCapability Process Index (CPK)
- oStatistical Process Control (SPC)
- oHypothesis testing
- oFailure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- o8D Problem Solving
- oDesign of Experiments (DOE)
- oStrong data analysis and interpretation skills
- Demonstrated project management capabilities
- Excellent English communication skills
- Available for extensive travel (70%)
- Masters degree or above in engineering or equivalent
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Technical project management experience
