The Opportunity: Lead Mentor and Execute
As a Lead Driver you are the backbone of our local operations. You will balance your time between safely operating commercial vehicles and serving as a vital link between our frontline drivers and management.
Key Leadership & Operational Responsibilities:
Mentor & Train: Lead morning crew-outs conduct new hire training observations and provide coaching to ensure the team meets our high safety and quality standards.
Drive Excellence: Navigate designated routes to collect waste while maintaining a positive professional attitude with the communities we serve.
Operational Oversight: Monitor daily pre/post-trip inspections manage Safety Lane weekly inspections and collaborate with the shop manager to ensure our fleet is in top condition.
Process Improvement: Review route volume and demand to recommend re-routes and efficiency gains to the Supervisor or Manager.
Safety Champion: Ensure strict adherence to LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) procedures and all state/federal regulations.
What You Bring to the Team
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of commercial driving experience with at least one (1) year specifically in the solid waste industry.
Credentials: A valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and the ability to operate a standard transmission (location dependent).
Physical Capability: Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs repetitively and handle the physical demands of outdoor waste collection.
Mindset: A commitment to continuous improvement a safety-first attitude and the ability to lead a team with empathy and clear communication.
