Job Summary

This is a FlexSteel Pipe position and is located in Baytown TX.

Schedule:

Rotating 2 weeks on day shift 2 weeks on night shift.

Hours: 7am- 7pm and 7pm-7am

Employees can be on any of these shift schedules candidates need to be comfortable with all:

1. 108 hours per pay period : 1 week- Mon-Fri 2-week Mon- Thurs 108 hours -- Repeat - Weekends off

2. 96 hours per pay period : 2 days on- 2 days off- 3 days on- 2 days off- 3 days on- 2 days off-- Repeat (Every other weekend off every 4 weeks) 96 hours per pay period

  • The Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating equipment that requires mechanical assembly operations. This role is crucial to ensuring the efficient and accurate production of our flexible pipes.

  • Set up and operate machinery used in the manufacturing of flexible pipes.
  • Perform mechanical assembly operations as part of the equipment setup process.
  • Conduct basic routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Completes required documentation records as required in accordance with procedures.
  • Document and report any issues or discrepancies in the equipment set up production quality maintenance and any other issues encountered.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field is preferred.
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience or related field.
  • Candidates must be able to read write speak and understand English.
  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly and equipment operation.
  • Welding and NTD experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and assembly techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanics metal forming and/or extrusion equipment and processes is preferred.
  • This position may require:

    • Working in various weather conditions

  • Field Branch Shop & Plant Positions: This position operates in an industrial/field environment. The role requires working in and around manufacturing equipment heavy machinery and potentially hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job the employee:
    • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly
    • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)
    • Climb stairs and ladders
    • Bend stoop kneel and reach
    • Work in confined spaces when required
    • Operate heavy equipment and power tools
    • Perform repetitive movements

    • Exposure to extreme weather conditions
    • Exposure to loud noise levels requiring hearing protection
    • Work in high places and confined spaces
    • Exposure to dust fumes and chemicals
    • Work around moving mechanical parts
    • Work in hot and cold temperatures
