TITLE: Groundskeeper I

DEPARTMENT: Grounds

REPORTS TO: Grounds Manager

PAY:$15/hr-16/hr

Must be willing to work holidays and weekends

Must be reliable and available to work

Scope of Work:

Maintenance of all horticultural needs of the property which includes a 9 hole executive style course. Maintaining safe and debris free walkways to include parking lots and sidewalks by removal of snow or trash. Hang and remove holiday lights seasonally. Staff may be asked to drive a variety of vehicles such as riding mower or golf cart so a valid Drivers License is required.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prune trees bushes shrubs.

2. Routinely monitor property to pick up trash and other debris.

3. Assure snow is removed from parking lots sidewalks and outdoor lodge steps.

4. Treat parking lots sidewalks and outdoor lodge steps with deicer/salt as needed.

5. Provide other departments with deicer/salt as needed.

6. Chop cut and split wood; stack for use in the fireplace of the hotel lobby.

7. Seasonally hang and remove lights utilizing ladders and high lift buckets.

8. Assist with grounds needs for the golf course

9. Assist other departments as needed for special projects; moving furniture etc.

Physical Demands:

Work involves exerting 100 pounds of force occasionally or 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Occasional work required in bucket truck. Must be able to stand/walk for 4 hour periods up to 8 hours per day and to be in the sun/heat or cold inclement weather 8 hours per day. Approximately 90% of work will be outdoors. Uniforms and coats provided.
