Electrical Engineer Principle Copper & Hybrid FiberPower Systems

Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer (10 years experience) to join a small highly collaborative engineering team working on copper Ethernet cabling systems and hybrid fiberpower solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a handson broad technical scope and thrives in a dynamic fastmoving development environment.

The successful candidate will contribute across the full product lifecyclefrom concept and analysis through testing documentation and field supportacting as a technical generalist with depth in electrical engineering fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Engineering & Development

• Support the design analysis and validation of copper Ethernet cabling systems including twistedpair performance characteristics (impedance insertion loss crosstalk return loss etc.)
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of hybrid fiberpower (HFP/FMPS) and powered communications systems including power delivery protection and integration considerations
• Assist with electrical modeling simulation and lab measurement of cables connectors and systemlevel performance
• Participate in failure analysis and rootcause investigations related to electrical and signalintegrity issues

Testing & Validation

• Conduct and document laboratory testing (electrical thermal environmental and EMCrelated tests)
• Use network analyzers oscilloscopes power supplies data loggers and related instrumentation
• Support development and execution of test plans aligned with industry standards (TIA IEEE IEC UL NEC and ect. as applicable)

CrossFunctional Collaboration

• Work closely with mechanical manufacturing quality and compliance teams
• Support interaction with suppliers contract manufacturers and field personnel
• Assist with preparation of technical documentation drawings reports and internal design reviews

Continuous Learning & Support

• Stay current with evolving Ethernet cabling and powerdelivery technologies
• Support Product Developmentrelated activities and product qualification efforts
• Support standards development through participation and contribution
• Support the industry through peer reviewed publication
• Provide technical assistance during prototyping pilot builds and early deployments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (required; other degrees not considered)
• 10 years of relevant engineering experience (entrylevel candidates encouraged to apply)
• Strong foundation in:
  • Circuit analysis
  • Electromagnetics and signal integrity
  • AC/DC power fundamentals
  • RF principles
• Ability to work effectively in a smallteam multidisciplinary environment
• Willingness to be handson in both lab and office settings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred / NicetoHave Qualifications

• Exposure to structured cabling systems Ethernet PHYs or highspeed copper links
• Familiarity with:
  • Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs)
  • Timedomain reflectometry (TDR)
  • Power electronics or faultmanaged power concepts
• Experience with MATLAB Python or similar tools for data analysis
• Awareness of TIA IEEE 802 UL NEC or IEC standards
