The Department of Pharmacy Practice at Mercer University College of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor of Community Pharmacy Practice.This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an innovative Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum while advancing contemporary community pharmacy practice and pharmacist-delivered patient care services.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will:
Teach in the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum with a strong emphasis on community pharmacy practice self-care and patient-centered care
Play a key role in the Colleges Integrated Patient Care (IPC) course series including clinical skills and simulation-based education
Maintain a community pharmacy practice site in the Atlanta area
Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services within the community setting
Precept student pharmacists in experiential learning experiences focused on clinical service development and patient care innovation
The workload distribution is 45% teaching 35% service (including clinical practice) and 20% scholarship
Requirements:
Qualified candidates must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution and be eligible for pharmacist licensure in Georgia. Completion of a PGY-1 residency or equivalent community practice experience is required. Preferred qualifications include board certification (e.g. BCACP or BCPS) experience providing clinical services in community pharmacy settings and prior teaching or precepting experience.
