Job Summary

NexperiaUK is nowseekingadedicated and proactiveFacilities Labourer to join our UKSemiconductorManufacturing site based in Hazel Grove Stockport. This is ais a hands-on role where you will work both indoors and outdoors supporting the smooth running of operationsat a large manufacturing site.

What you will do

As a Facilities Labourer you will spend most of your time managing vital manufacturing waste disposal (including hazardous and confidential waste) operating equipment such as granulators and shedders ensuring segregation and recycling standards are met. Alongside thisyoullsupport a wide range of site activities from setting up meeting rooms andassistingwith office moves to perimeter fence security tours litter management and evenmaintainingthe on-site pond and bird feeding areas.

This varied role requires flexibility physical fitness and a willingness to take on routine tasks that are essential to keeping our site safe clean and operational. Over a month you will work 90% weekdays and 10% weekends with usual hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday or just 5.5 hours Friday - Sunday.Additionalovertime will also be available at an enhanced rate for weekends.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing site waste compound including hazardous and confidential waste disposal

  • Operating granulators and shredders and a forklift to dispose of manufacturing waste

  • Weekly tasks such as clearing the manufacturing plant basements

  • Supporting office set-ups relocations and meeting room arrangements

  • Perimeter fence security tours and litter picking

  • Assistingwith snow and ice clearing during the winter months

  • Maintaining bund areas gullies drains and other misc. duties

What you will need

Essential requirements:

  • On-site availability: Ability to reliably work 37.5 hours per week over a four-week rota. The monthly working schedule includes 18 weekday shifts and 2 weekend shifts (1 Saturday and 1 Sunday of 5.5 hours in duration)

  • Physical capability: Comfortable with a highly active role averaging 15000 steps per day indoors and outdoors

  • Strong interpersonal skills: Clear communication and effective teamwork are key to success in this role

  • Adaptability: Flexible and resilient in a dynamic environment with changing priorities

  • Practical competence: Confident in safe manual handling techniques and willing to undertake training where

Desirable skills:

  • Forklift truck licence or willingness to undertake training

  • Chemical awareness existing knowledge beneficial with full training provided

  • Relevant background prior experience in facilities labouring building maintenance or caretaking roles
